The moveable restaurant is a project by Stephen Parle and Joseph Trivelli to organize and cook dinners in different places. We envisage that through this project we will be able to cook all the different types of food that we like to eat and cook for each other, without being tied to a restaurant concept.

We want to cook around the idea of a meal rather than a restaurant menu and, through our blog we intend to share some of the sources and thought process behind our ideas. In many ways it is easier to feel the bigger picture behind a meal, the inspiration or origin is much clearer than with a whole menu. When everyone eats the same meal, even if it is different times, the event feels like a festival of sorts.

Moveable, because as well as not being geographically tied we intend to base meals around a variety of different ideas. The ideas might come from other cooks, journeys we have made, a particular ingredient or festival, the change of season or any whim we might have.

We’re going to hold a couple of dinners a month to which people can come by booking in advance on a first come first served basis. We will put all the details on the events section of this site.

These meals will be honestly priced and that too will change to reflect the ingredients. We’re not going  to make our fortunes through this, and of course everyone will know the price for each menu in advance. Wine will be sold separately, often through the venue rather than by us.

We would really like to hear any ideas from others as to possible locations, collaborations, and cooking ideas- so just comment below to let us hear your inspiration.
